As the setting of countless Grimm Brothers' fairy tales, the Black Forest happily plays up to its image as a land of cuckoo clocks, cherry gâteaux, outlandish traditional clothing, hefty half-timbered farmhouses and hill upon hill of dark evergreen forest. Our base is the Schwarzwald Hotel, found in the picture-perfect, 13th century town of Gengenbach, surrounded by the rolling hills of the Black Forest. Highlights of the tour include a trip on the Black Forest Railway, a guided visit to the Black Forest Museum, a journey on the Pig Trail Railway and a Boat cruise on Lake Titisee.
