For a number of year's we have worked with CroisiEurope to offer our customers a memorable river cruise holiday on board one of their luxury air-conditioned ships. For 2020 we introduce a cruise along the majestic Danube, from Austria to Germany via Hungary and Slovakia.
You will discover the historical and cultural treasures of the great capitals along the Danube from the famous scenes of the Vienna Konzerthaus to the Baroque palaces of Bratislava. Marvel at the vast plains of the traditional Puszta or hike through the small Carpathians to the ruins of Devin Castle. Tremendous landscapes and monuments with undeniable charm will be waiting for you.
This is excellent value for money and whilst on the cruise all meals are included, from dinner on the first evening to breakfast on the final day (excluding lunch on Day 4) - onboard drinks included (except for drinks from our special lists), assistance from the onboard multi-lingual host/hostess, a welcome cocktail, gala dinner and onboard entertainment.

The 4 star Maritim Wurzburg Hotel is in the heart of Wurzburg and offers superb modern facilities. All bedrooms are en suite with TV, telephone, air conditioning, safe and Wi-Fi. There is a lovely restaurant which offers magnificent views over the fortress Marienberg and the main river. There is a lift.
The 4 star MS Modigliani is part of the CroisiEurope Premium fleet and all cabins have LOWER BERTHS, picture window and are equipped with shower, washbasin and toilet, hairdryer, satellite TV, radio and safe. Facilities on board include air conditioning, a lounge bar with dance floor, bar, large sundeck with deckchairs, gift shop and TV/Video lounge. There is a lift and limited cabins equipped for the disabled.
Transfer to Hull for the overnight crossing to Rotterdam. (Meals not included).
We disembark and journey through the Netherlands into Germany to Wurzburg for overnight halfboard accommodation at the Maritim Wurzburg Hotel.
We journey via Nuremberg and Passau, into Austria and onto the city of Linz where we board our luxury river cruiser for 6 nights onboard the MS Modigliani. After checking in we depart for Vienna followed by an introduction to the CroisiEurope crew and a welcome cocktail. Please note that your Bibby's driver will not be joining the cruise.
We'll arrive in Vienna early in the morning where you can then decide to join one of the optional excursions. Visit to Schönbrunn Palace, former summer residence of the imperial family, and tour of part of Vienna or the high art of Viennese living: Music and Viennese cafes. We'll stroll through the city and visit back stage in the Konzerthaus concert hall. After our tour, enjoy a steaming cup of Vienna Coffee and a delicious pastry. This afternoon, enjoy some free time or join an optional excursion to visit to Hofburg Palace. In the evening, join us on an optional excursion for both packages: Tour of Vienna by night. We'll begin to cruise during the night.
The morning will be spent cruising before we arrive in Budapest. You can explore at leisure or join one of the optional excursions a sightseeing tour of Budapest, once two distinct cities that united only in 1873. Another option is Budapest by bike. You'll see all the important sights of the city on an easy-paced ride, cycling through the historical centre of Hungarian culture and many other legendary sites in Budapest. Enjoy an evening of 'operetta music' on board.
Enjoy a free day in Budapest (lunch not included) or once again you have the option to join one of the excursions offered onboard. One option is to visit the Puszta, the Pannonian steppe grasslands (a typical regional lunch included for those who choose this excursion). Also called the Great Plain, this vast prairie was the once the wild west of Hungary, and immense herds of livestock grazed here under the watchful eye of the cowboys. Our ship will cruise through the night.
The morning will be spent cruising to Bratislava, the Slovakian capital famous for its splendid Baroque palaces, churches and pleasant squares. Again, the option is yours, relax onboard, explore the town at leisure or join your host for a guided tour of the city. Tonight, is a gala evening and dinner whilst we cruise towards Durnstein.
Enjoy free time in Durnstein, the fortified village where Richard the Lionheart was once held prisoner. Afterwards, we'll cruise to Melk by crossing the wonderful Wachau Valley. In the afternoon, join us on an optional excursion for both packages: Visit the Melk Abbey. Originally a Baroque-style palace built between 1702 and 1736, now a Benedictine monastery. Later we cruise to Linz.
Departing after breakfast we re-join our coach and travel to Wurzburg where we return to the centrally located Maritim Hotel for overnight halfboard accommodation.
We leave Wurzburg and travel through Germany into the Netherlands to Rotterdam for the overnight crossing to Hull (Meals not included).
Hull to local area. Arrive home lunchtime.
