A day out for all railway enthusiasts today! We travel to Head of Steam where exhibits include Stephenson's 'Locomotion No.1' built for the opening of the Stockton & Darlington Railway and 'Derwent', the earliest surviving Darlington-built locomotive (2hr stay approx.). After some free time in Darlington we continue to Locomotion where you can see highlights of the British national collection of railway vehicles in the world's first railway town and explore the history of the Shildon Wagon Works (2hr stay approx.).
