We journey south via the main roads and motorways to Kent for 4 nights half board accommodation at the Q Ashford International Hotel.
Rochester Sweeps Festival is our destination today. The modern day festival is a colourful mix of music, dancing and entertainment with a Sweeps parade and more than 60 Morris sides and entertainers celebrating throughout the festival.
Today we visit Chatham's Historic Dockyard, reflecting 400 years of naval history from the Spanish Armada to The Falklands and beyond. The dockyard was the recent film location of the TV series 'Call the Midwife', and a guided tour will bring this to life.
We include a visit to Leeds Castle today. Described as 'the loveliest castle in the world', set in the middle of a natural lake and surrounded by 500 acres of parkland and gardens.
Travel home via the main roads and motorways, arriving into the local area early evening.
