We return to the Bells Hotel Coleford, the perfect base for a tour of the Forest of Dean and the surrounding countryside. Our itinerary features Hampton Court Castle, Hereford Cathedral, the Big Pit Coal Museum and include a rail journey.
The 3 star Bells Hotel is situated in the Forest of Dean, within walking distance of Coleford. The hotel is surrounded by its own 18 hole golf course. All bedrooms are en suite with TV, telephone, tea making facilities, hairdryer and Wi-Fi. There is no lift but ground floor rooms are available.
We travel to Tewkesbury for a break before we continue to Coleford for 4 nights half board accommodation at the Bells Hotel.
We visit the 15th Century medieval Hampton Court Castle, with its award-winning gardens and impressive maze. We then transfer to Hereford, where we take a guided tour of the magnificent cathedral before enjoying some free time.
A taste of Wales today as we head for the market town of Abergavenny known as the 'Gateway to Wales'. Browse the traditional market before we visit the Big Pit National Coal Museum. Enjoy a multimedia tour of a modern coal mine with a virtual miner, see exhibitions that tell the story of coal in Wales.
We enjoy the scenery of the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley, including visits to Chepstow and a journey on the Dean Forest Railway. We return to Coleford for some free time.
We depart returning via Ledbury, Malvern and Worcester before arriving home early evening.
