Monday

Morning departure, we include a coffee stop in Levens en route to Heysham for the afternoon crossing to Douglas. Our accommodation is 4 nights half board at the Rutland Hotel, Douglas.

Excursions

  • We travel south and visit Castletown, one of the oldest towns in the British Isles. We then continue to Port Erin for a visit to the Cregneash Folk Village, here we discover the Manx cottages to see how crofters lived through stories, skills and craft demonstrations.
  • We explore the north of the island with a visit to Tynwald Hill, home of the 1000-year-old Manx Parliament. We then follow some of the famous TT Motorcycle Course, to 'Royal' Ramsey. Then it's all aboard the Manx Electric Railway for a scenic journey south to Laxey, before boarding the Snaefell Mountain Railway for a return journey up to the highest point of the island.
  • We take a trip over to the west coast and the resort of Peel with its flat sandy beach and absorbing attractions. We head back to Douglas, for free time in the island's capital, a unique blend of holiday resort, finance centre and working harbour. Not to be missed is the award-winning Manx Museum (free of charge) for a journey of discovery into the island's absorbing history.
