Our action-packed itinerary for this popular tour includes visits to the Bowes Museum, the award-winning Alnwick Gardens, a Quay to Sea River Cruise and entry to Bamburgh Castle.
The 4 star Grand Hotel Gosforth Park (formerly Marriott) is contemporary and set in 12 acres of parkland. All bedrooms are en suite with TV, tea making facilities, hairdryer, safe, iron & ironing board and Wi-Fi. There is a health and leisure club with swimming pool and gym. There is a lift.
We travel to Barnard Castle and include entry to the Bowes Museum. We continue to the outskirts of Newcastle for 4 nights half board accommodation at the Grand Hotel Gosforth Park.
A visit to Northumbria is not complete without a visit to the award-winning Alnwick Gardens. We travel via the Alnwick Moor and spend the day visiting the gardens and attractive town centre.
Newcastle is our destination today. We begin with a guided tour, taking in the many sites and attractions of this fascinating city. Later in the day we join the Quay to Sea Cruise, an interesting 3-hour cruise which highlights the changing face of the River Tyne.
We travel to Bamburgh, where we include entry to the famous Castle. We return via Seahouses.
Our route home takes us via Kielder Forest Park, pausing for a break at the Tower Knowe Visitor Centre. We continue via Kielder Water and onwards to Houghton Hall Garden Centre where we take a break. Arrival home late afternoon.
