A new tour for our Irish Section as we travel to the Burren, one of Ireland’s most spectacular regions and one of the largest areas of limestone rock in Western Europe. The magical vista of Galway Bay and the Cliffs of Moher also feature and we include entry to two museums, the Burren Centre and the Cliffs of Moher Visitor Centre. Depart early morning and transfer to Holyhead for our afternoon sailing to Dublin. We journey to Enfield for overnight half board accommodation at the Johnstown House Hotel.
We travel across to the city of Galway where we take a break, continuing into County Clare and the Burren to Ennistymon for 3 nights half board accommodation at the Falls Hotel.
We begin our day with a visit to the Burren Centre where you can discover the unique magic of the Burren Region in ‘A Walk Through Time’. Located in the historic village of Kilfenora the visitor centre encompasses an exhibition, audio visual film theatre, craft shop and tea room. Later we travel to Blackhead, the most northerly tip of County Clare. We return via the rolling hills of the Burren National Park.
Today we experience the magical vista of the Cliffs of Moher beginning with a visit to the small town of Lahinch and then onto the Cliffs of Moher Visitor Centre, which brings to life the story of the Cliffs of Moher, presenting the geology, wildlife and human aspects of the Cliffs in an entertaining and educational way. Later we continue to the coastal village of Doolin which is noted for its wealth of Irish folk music and then onto the spa town of Lisdoonvarna.
We leave Ennistymon and travel to County Mayo visiting the interesting small town of Westport. We continue to Monaghan for overnight half board accommodation at the Four Seasons Hotel.
We transfer to Belfast for our mid-day sailing to Cairnryan, arriving back into the local area early evening.
