A new itinerary for one of our favourite Irish tours that takes in the dramatic scenery of The Giants Causeway and Irelands rugged north coast. Wonder at the wild Atlantic seascapes of Malin Head, take an interesting guided tour of Derrys city walls and enjoy a visit to a famous whisky distillery. With accommodation at the Clanree Hotel (this hotel was the wedding location of Daniel O'Donnell) in the Donegal region of Ireland this is a fantastic opportunity to experience the world-renowned 'Irish Charm'.

The 4 star Clanree Hotel provides a comfortable base conveniently located under 2km from Letterkenny town centre and features classically styled rooms, restaurant, bar and a relaxing health and leisure club with gym, 20m swimming pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. All bedrooms are en suite with TV, telephone, tea making facilities, hairdryer and Wi-Fi. There is a lift.
Travel via the Galloway coast to Loch Ryan to board the lunchtime Stena Line ferry to Belfast. We then travel to Letterkenny for 4 nights half board accommodation at the Clanree Hotel.
We travel into the Inshowen Peninsula. Glorious scenery is guaranteed as we appreciate panoramic ocean views and ancient monuments on our way to Malin Head, the most northerly point in the 'Emerald Isle'. Onwards to the historic city of Derry where a guide will provide an interesting insight into the city's tumultuous past, with a part walking (on the city walls) and part driving tour.
This morning we include a visit to Bushmills Distillery, one of Ireland's most historic and interesting distilleries. Watch whiskey making take place and enjoy a wee taster too. Later, we visit the legendary feature that is The Giant's Causeway where we include a visit to the visitor centre. We can walk or take a mini bus down the steep slopes to the amazing volcanic feature.
Today is a scenic excursion as we travel via Bloody Foreland (known locally as the Hill of Blood) and the Rosses. We include a light lunch (and traditional Irish Music) in Leo's Tavern, set in the attractive village of Meenaleck.
After breakfast we travel to Belfast for our ferry crossing to Loch Ryan. Arrive home early evening.
