We travel to the 'Gateway to the Isles', Oban, described as one of the most scenic travel destinations. Our stay at the centrally located Royal Hotel takes on a `Drams and Dances' theme, with Scottish Hospitality at the top of the agenda. Live evening entertainment, quizzes, bingo and a Ceilidh all contribute to what will be a memorable pre-Christmas break.
The 3 star Royal Hotel dominates the town square in the very heart of Oban. It was built in 1895 and offers traditional Scottish hospitality within quality modern surroundings. All bedrooms are en suite with TV, telephone, tea making facilities and hairdryer. There is Wi-Fi in the public areas. There is a lift.
We travel north, via Loch Lomond to Oban, for 4 nights half board accommodation at the Royal Hotel. Settle into your room before gathering for a drinks reception, a delicious 3 course meal and some traditional Scottish entertainment.
A full day excursion to Fort William, taking in Neptunes Staircase, Loch Eil and the Glenfinnan Monument. Pre-dinner drinks will be served and another evening of entertainment.
A short excursion to Seil Island and the Atlantic Bridge, returning to Oban where we enjoy some free time. Afternoon tea will be served in the hotel lounge/bar with a quiz and bingo to enjoy. This evening take part in dancing and singing with Argyll's top musical act. (Basil Forgrieve, but can be subject to change).
Today we visit Lochgilphead, Loch Fyne and Inveraray where you can visit the famous whisky shop and taste the national drink. Enjoy your final evening of entertainment with a traditional Ceilidh.
Departing after breakfast, we return via Crianlarich and Moffat, arriving home early evening.
