Our base for this new tour is the idyllic town of Inveraray on the shores of Loch Fyne, ideally placed for exploring Argyle and Bute. We stay at the popular Loch Fyne Hotel and Spa which overlooks the water offering magnificent views, quality service and a warm Scottish welcome.
The 4 star Loch Fyne Hotel & Spa has uninterrupted views of Loch Fyne and beyond to the Cowal Hills. The Clansman Restaurant has a cosy atmosphere and makes the most of local produce, particularly the seafood. All bedrooms are en suite with TV, telephone, tea making facilities, hairdryer, ironing board and Wi-Fi. Overlooking the Loch, the Leisure Club offers an indoor pool, jacuzzi, sauna, steam room and spa treatment rooms. There is a lift.
We travel north via Luss on Loch Lomond, arriving at the Loch Fyne Hotel and Spa late afternoon, for 4 nights half board accommodation.
Today we stay close to our base with a visit to Inverary Castle home to the Duke of Argyle and head of the Clan Campbell. Explore the impressive castle and spectacular gardens or take a break in the traditional tearoom. Later enjoy free time in Inverary where you can pay a visit to the famous Jail or woolen mill.
We venture further afield today with a drive to Lochgilphead and the Crinan Canal, which provides a short cut for shipping between Loch Gilp and the Sound of Jura. We continue to the outstanding coastal Arduaine Gardens overlooking Loch Melfort and then on to Oban, known as the 'Gateway to the Isles' with spectacular views across the bay to Mull.
Today we head for an included tour of Cruachan Power Station hidden inside the 'The Hollow Mountain' of Ben Cruachan. We travel on to the Glen Coe visitors centre, returning to Inverary via the magnificent scenery of the Pass of Glencoe, Loch Ba, Loch Tulla and Tyndrum.
We return home via Callander and Moffat arriving into our local area late afternoon.
