The Scottish seaside resort of Largs provides the perfect location to explore the lovely region around the Firth of Clyde, enhanced at this time of year by the stunning colours of Spring. We visit Dumfries House, as featured on Countryfile, the delightful Isle of Arran (including a light lunch) and the famous Loch Lomond. Our base is the Willowbank Hotel, a Bibby's favourite with a reputation for excellent cuisine.

The 3 star Willowbank Hotel is a modern hotel with a reputation for excellent cuisine. There is a restaurant, bar lounge, quiet lounge and function room, which are situated on the ground floor. All bedrooms are en suite with TV, telephone and tea making facilities. Wi-Fi is available in most public areas. There is no lift but all rooms are on the ground and first floors.
We journey North via Moffat, Lochwinnoch and Kilbirnie. We continue to Largs for 4 nights half board accommodation at the Willowbank Hotel.
A full day trip to the magnificent Isle of Arran described as 'Scotland in miniature'. We enjoy a guided journey around the islands spectacular coastline taking in some of the most sublime views in Scotland, complimented by the wonderful colours of the Spring season. A light lunch is included today.
We visit Dunoon, one of the Firth of Clyde's foremost resorts, then continue to Inveraray, returning via the shores of Loch Lomond.
Today we follow the Ayrshire Coast via Wemyss Bay to Glasgow. We begin with a visit to the Riverside Museum (free entry) home to over 3,000 objects that detail Glasgow's rich past to a glimpse into daily Glasgow life in the early to mid-20th Century. A coach transfer into the centre will be offered for those who would prefer to explore the city.
This morning we travel to Dumfries House, an 18th Century house and estate which was saved by the patronage of Prince Charles and restored to its former glory. We include a 1 hr guided tour and refreshments. We continue South and arrive into our local area late afternoon.
