Crossing to Brodick from Ardrossan, the Isle of Arran boasts an impressive, rugged silhouette. Just 20 miles long and 56 miles around its coastline, it is often described as 'Scotland in Miniature'. Enjoy the enchantment of one of Scotland's loveliest islands, with its craggy mountains in the North to the rolling moors and unspoilt beaches in the South. A local guide will join us for a day to bring to life this fascinating island and we visit the stunning Brodick Castle.
The 3 star Best Western Kinloch Hotel enjoys a stunning location in the quiet hamlet of Blackwaterfoot overlooking the Kilbrannan Sound and the shores of Kintyre. All bedrooms are en suite with TV, tea making facilities and Wi-Fi. Other facilities include indoor heated swimming pool, sauna, solarium, squash court, snooker table, fitness room, lounges and public bars. There is a lift to most bedrooms.
Morning departure to Ardrossan where we board the afternoon ferry to Brodick (1 hour crossing) We disembark and travel via the coast road southwards to the Best Western Kinloch Hotel for 3 nights half board accommodation.
A full day touring the north of the island, where our local guide will bring to life the history and culture of Arran. A suitable lunch stop will be arranged (price for lunch not included).
Today we visit Brodick Castle, a castle you'll never forget. The setting is staggering, fronted by the sea, bedecked with gardens and overlooked by the majestic mountain of Goat Fell. We enjoy free time for a stroll along the attractive promenade, returning to the south of the island via Arran's rugged rolling moors.
We depart after breakfast and transfer to Brodick for the ferry crossing to Ardrossan. We journey home, making suitable refreshment stops en route, arriving early evening.
