The peaks and slopes that make up central Mid Wales uplands, make the Cambrian Mountains one of the most beautiful landscapes in Britain. Our base is the Spa Town of Llandrindod Wells, an ideal location for our diverse selection of excursions.
The 4 star Metropole Hotel is located in the town centre of Llandrindod Wells. All bedrooms are en suite with TV, telephone, tea making facilities, hairdryer, trouser press and Wi-Fi. Leisure facilities include an indoor swimming pool, spa, sauna, steam room and a fully equipped gym. There is a lift.
We journey via the main roads and motorways to the bustling market town of Oswestry with its medieval architecture and eclectic mix of shops. We continue to Llandrindod Wells for 4 nights half board accommodation at the Metropole Hotel.
A morning visit to the award-winning Judge's Lodging at Presteigne, where the restored Judge's apartments, servant's quarters, vast courtroom and dingy cells offer a unique 'hands on' insight into Victorian justice. We then continue the border town of Hay on Wye, famed for its annual literary festival and numerous book shops, before returning via Builth Wells.
Today we head into the Welsh Lake District and visit the Elan Valley Visitor Centre, followed by a tour of the lakes, waterfalls and mountains. Later enjoy some free time to make use of the hotels leisure facilities or explore Llandrindod Wells.
We journey to the town of Aberystwyth with free time to explore. Later we join the Vale of Rheidol Railway for a journey through some spectacular scenery. We rejoin our coach at Devils Bridge.
We travel to Ludlow and enjoy a break before continuing home arriving into the local area early evening.
