The Isle of Wight is home to some of the most diverse countryside in the UK and generally enjoys milder weather and more sunshine than the mainland. The coastline offers views over the Solent and inland, picturesque villages and a wealth of holiday attractions.

The 3 star Channel View Hotel occupies a cliff top position overlooking Shanklin Bay. Facilities include an indoor swimming pool, sauna and solarium. All bedrooms are en suite with TV, telephone, radio, tea making facilities, hairdryer and Wi-Fi. There is entertainment several times a week. There is a lift although some rooms have a few steps to them including the entrance to the hotel, restaurant and entertainment room.
We travel via the main roads and motorways to Southampton for the ferry crossing to East Cowes. We continue to Shanklin for 5 nights half board accommodation at the Channel View Hotel.

We visit West Cowes, famous for the World's oldest regular regatta 'Cowes Week'. Later we continue to Osbourne House, the one-time holiday home of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert, we explore the palatial interiors and beautiful gardens.
An Island Tour including Ventnor Botanic Gardens (1hr stay), Alum Bay, the Needles and Yarmouth, returning via Newport.
We transfer to Havenstreet for a ride on the Isle of Wight Steam Railway through to Smallbrook Junction then returning to Havenstreet for free time before a visit to Ryde and Bembridge.
We retrace our journey to Southampton, continuing north arriving home early evening.
