Based in the centre of picturesque Pitlochry in the heart of the Scottish Highlands, we visit some of Scotland's finest castles and enjoy Spring in this beautiful region. En route we call at the historic city of Stirling and during our stay we include visits to Glamis and Blair Castles.
The 3 star Fishers Hotel is in the heart of Pitlochry and dates back to the 1830's. It offers excellent comfort and Scottish hospitality. There is a traditional bar serving a wide range of Malt Whisky from each area of Scotland, and an impressive new Castle restaurant serving locally sourced produce. All bedrooms are en suite with TV, telephone, tea making facilities, hairdryer and Wi-Fi. There is a lift.
We travel to Stirling famous for its castle and Wallace Monument. We continue to Pitlochry for 4 nights half board accommodation at the Fishers Hotel.
A ride down the banks of Loch Tay, calling at the Falls of Dochart and Loch Earn. We continue to Crieff followed by a visit to Aberfeldy, made famous by the Scottish poet Robert Burns.
We visit Glamis Castle, the ancestral home of the Earls of Strathmore for over 600 years and the location for Shakespeare's dramatic play Macbeth. We return to Pitlochry for free time.
We travel to Blair Castle, the ancient seat of the Dukes and Earls of Atholl. We continue to Queens View, one of Scotland's most famous views of Loch Tummel and Highland Perthshire.
We depart travelling via the Scottish Borders and Gretna Green. Arrive home early evening.
