Thursday

Early morning departure to Dover for our lunchtime crossing to Calais. We continue to Reims for overnight bed and breakfast accommodation at the Novotel Reims Tinqueux.

Friday

We travel across France via Dijon and Salins-les-Bains into Switzerland, continuing to Grindelwald for 5 nights half-board accommodation at the excellent Hotel Kreuz and Post. On arrival we enjoy a welcome drink before dinner.

Excursions

• We enjoy a classic Bernese Oberland excursion first of all to the elegant resort of Brienz with opportunity for coffee and an optional cruise on the mirror smooth lake. Later in the day we visit the picture postcard resort of Interlaken and have some free time at leisure.
• A full day excursion travelling via the Brunig Pass to Lucerne with its beautiful old town, stylish shops and long promenade. This lakeside paradise situated beneath a magnificent mountainous panorama is renowned as being one of the most beautiful cities in Europe.
• We begin the day with a visit to the resort of Meiringen, where you can spend time wandering around the town and discover its links with Sherlock Holmes. Later in the day we visit the Ballenburg, Swiss Open-Air Museum with more than one hundred centuries-old buildings from all over Switzerland, 250 farmyard animals, demonstrations of local crafts, which create a vivid impression of rural life in days gone by.
• We enjoy a once in a lifetime experience as we travel to the Top of Europe on the famous Jungfraujoch cog railway. Jungfraujoch-Top of Europe Bahnhof is the highest railway station in Europe and offers splendid views of the Jungfrau and Monch Alpine peaks, glaciers, valleys, and on a clear day, all the way to the Black Forest in Germany and the Vosges in France.

Wednesday

We depart Grindelwald and retrace our steps back to Reims for overnight bed and breakfast accommodation at the Novotel Reims Tinqueux.

Thursday

We depart Reims and journey to Calais to board our late morning sailing to Dover. We disembark and continue north via the main roads and motorways arriving into our local area late evening.
