Our base is Castleisland, the gateway to the Kingdom of Kerry and our excursions include the Dingle Peninsula, a local day around Killarney and the lakes, a visit to Bunratty Castle & Folk Park Museum and the chance to visit Muckross House & Gardens. To complete a truly breathtaking holiday we explore the Ring of Kerry, truly Ireland’s most beautiful coastline.

Seven Oaks Hotel

The 3 star Seven Oaks Hotel enjoys an enviable reputation and is only a short walk to the town centre. It offers the best in traditional Irish food featuring the finest local produce. River Island Hotel

The 3 star River Island Hotel is a family run hotel located on the lower main street of the town of Castleisland, ideal for a relaxing stroll after dinner. The en suite bedrooms have a TV, hairdryer, telephone and tea making facilities. There is a lift.

Stormont Hotel

The 3 star Stormont Hotel is situated in the leafy suburbs of Belfast four miles from the city centre. Enjoy contemporary dining and relax in the stylish lounge and reception area. All the very comfortable bedrooms are en suite with TV, telephone, hairdryer and tea making facilities. There is a lift.

Sunday

We travel via the North Wales coast to board the early afternoon Stena Line ferry from Holyhead to Dublin. We disembark and travel to the Carlow for overnight half board accommodation at the Seven Oaks Hotel.

Monday

We travel via Roscrea and Limerick to Bunratty Castle & Folk Park Museum where 19th century life is re-created, set in the grounds of a medieval fortress featuring over 30 buildings in a’ living’ village and rural setting. We continue to Castleisland for 4 nights half board accommodation at the River Island Hotel.

Tuesday

Our excursion takes us on a scenic tour below the Slieve Mish Mountains around the Spectacular Dingle Peninsula where we enjoy dramatic coastal views of an area steeped in history. Later in the day we visit Tralee, the vibrant centre of County Kerry with an interesting and distinctive mix of historic and modern architecture and a lively cultural scene.

Wednesday

We visit the traditional Irish town of Killarney situated in beautiful countryside which makes Killarney a very special place indeed, a must visit destination for any traveller. Brim full of history, heritage, activities and world class hospitality it has recently won Ireland’s tidy town competition. Take the opportunity for a cruise on the lake, enjoy a tour of the town by Jaunting Car or visit Muckross House & Gardens (price not included).

Thursday

Our last day in County Kerry, we visit the Bog Village at Killorglin which gives a fascinating insight into how people lived and worked in Ireland in the 18th and 19th century. We have time to sample some Irish coffee before continuing around the world famous Ring of Kerry with its dramatic, rugged seascapes and glorious countryside. Our route takes us via Sneem and Molls Gap to view the Lakes of Killarney with its scenic views. A day to remember!

Friday

We depart Castleisland and travel via Adare, a designated Heritage Town, one of the prettiest and friendliest in Ireland. We continue via the Newbridge Silverware Outlet and onwards to the outskirts of Belfast for overnight half board accommodation at the Stormont Hotel.

Saturday

Mid-morning we travel the short distance to Belfast Port and board the 11:30hrs ferry crossing to Cairnryan. We disembark and travel south via the main roads and motorways, arriving home early evening.
