The 3 star Salutation Hotel is situated in the heart of the historic city of Perth. One of the oldest hotels in Scotland, it retains its historic charm with modern day facilities. All the comfortable bedrooms are en suite with TV, telephone, central heating and tea making facilities. There is a lift to the first floor only.
We travel north via Stirling, to Perth for 4 nights half board accommodation at the Salutation Hotel.
This morning we visit Scone Palace to discover the exciting and colourful history of one of Scotland's most important stately homes. The Palace houses an outstanding collection of antiques, paintings and rare artifacts and the grounds are renowned throughout the world. We return to Perth for a free afternoon in our home resort.
We enjoy a scenic drive through the Lomond Hills to St. Andrews, known worldwide as The Home of Golf, and also boasts Scotland's oldest university. Later in the day we include a visit to Dundee Botanic Gardens, with its wide range of plants, fine collections of conifers and broad-leaved trees and shrubs. There is an impressive visitor centre and café on site.
Our first visit today is to the picturesque Highland town of Pitlochry, after which we visit the world famous House of Bruar, widely acknowledged as Scotland's most prestigious independent store.
We depart for home making suitable stops along the way, arriving into our local area early evening.
