On this new tour we explore the area of outstanding natural beauty that is the Cotswolds, with its rolling hills, medieval villages, churches and stately homes built of distinctive local yellow limestone. We visit the Cotswold Farm Park, home to TV presenter and farmer Adam Henson. We combine this with a guided tour of the famous Cotswolds and visit the magnificent Blenheim Palace.
The 4 star Oxford Witney Four Pillars Hotel is a short walk from the centre of Witney. All of the contemporary en suite bedrooms are decorated in a style with smart décor and elegant furnishings and include tea making facilities, hairdryer, TV and W-Fi. Leisure facilities include a swimming pool, gym, spa pool, sauna and steam room. There is no lift but ground floor rooms are available.
We travel via Banbury to Witney for 4 nights half board accommodation at the Four Pillars Oxford Witney Hotel.
We begin with a visit to the award winning Cotswold Farm Park established in 1971 by Adam’s father Joe Henson. He was founder Chairman of the Rare Breeds Survival Trust and the Farm Park was the first rare breeds farm to open to the public, specialising in conservation and education. Later in the day we have some free time in Cheltenham.
We are joined by a local guide who will bring to life the stunning scenery of the Cotswold’s region, visiting some of the famous towns and villages.
Today we visit the spectacular Blenheim Palace, Park & Gardens, the ancestral home of Winston Churchill. Later we enjoy some free time in the university city of Oxford.
We depart for home travelling via the Trentham Estate and Shopping Village, arriving into our local area late afternoon.
