Join us for a weekend exploring 'God’s own County' as we take in some of Yorkshire’s finest scenery and attractions. We enjoy a day in the 2017 UK City of Culture, the city of Hull, with its unique Museums Quarter - consisting of Wilberforce House, the Hull and East Riding Museum, Streetlife and the Arctic Corsair trawler. We begin our weekend with a visit to Selby Abbey and the Yorkshire Aviation Museum, finishing with time in the Yorkshire Coastal resort of Scarborough.
The 4 star Hallmark Hull Hotel has a stunning overview of the famous Humber Bridge on the shore of the Humber estuary. The hotel offers modern en-suite bedrooms with Wi-Fi, hairdryer, iron, TV, complimentary toiletries, and tea making facilities. There is no lift but ground floor rooms are available.
We travel to the historic market town of Selby, where we include a guided tour of the Abbey. Later we visit the Yorkshire Aviation Museum, which sits on the site of former RAF Elvington. We continue to the outskirts of Hull for 2 nights half board accommodation at the Hallmark Hotel.
We visit the town of Beverley before returning to Hull for free time. Hull has an interesting history and is home to a number of fascinating museums, such as the Streetlife Museum of Transport, Hull Maritime Museum and the Deep.
We depart after breakfast and travel via the Yorkshire Coast, taking a break in Scarborough. We include morning coffee and scones at the Red Lea Hotel followed by free time to relax and explore. We continue our journey home arriving into our local area late afternoon.
