Holiday Overview

We introduce this tour for 2018 based at the excellent Maritim Hotel in Konigswinter. After using this hotel for our overnight stays, we have received lots of positive feedback from our drivers Chris and Paul and customers alike. We have decided to base a 3-night stay at the hotel and explore the Rhine Valley and surrounding area from this superb base. Our itinerary features the cathedral city of Cologne, the famous Drachenfelsbahn Cog Railway, a river cruise along the Rhine, a visit to Koblenz and the Dutch town of Breda on our return. A nice and leisurely European break.

CURRENCY - Currency required for this tour will be the Euro.

PASSPORT REQUIRED - We require full christian names, date of birth & passport country of issue. Please have these details ready when booking.

Maritim Hotel, Konigswinter

The 4 star Maritim Hotel, Konigswinter is set amid rolling green hills alongside the Rhine river. There is a restaurant with terrace, bar, indoor pool, sauna and fitness room. All bedrooms are en suite with TV, telephone, mini-bar, hairdryer, safe and Wi-Fi. There is a lift.

Late morning transfer to Hull for the overnight ferry crossing to Rotterdam. (Meals not included).


We disembark and travel via Cologne, a 2,000-year-old city spanning the Rhine River in western Germany, the region's cultural hub. A landmark of High Gothic architecture set amid reconstructed old town, the twin-spired Cologne Cathedral is also known for its gilded medieval reliquary and sweeping river views. We continue to Konigswinter and the Maritim Hotel for 3 nights half board accommodation. A welcome drink on arrival and set 3 course evening meal.


Today we visit Koblenz, one of Germany's oldest and most beautiful towns where we begin with a short stop at Deutsches Eck, a headland where the Mosel river joins the Rhine. After free time we continue to via Boppard to the Rhine side town of Sankt Goar.


This morning we enjoy a journey on the Drachenfelsbahn, a cog railway that takes you on a scenic journey to the summit of the Drachenfels mountain at an altitude of 289 m. At the summit, you can enjoy spectacular views of the Rhine Valley. Later we enjoy a relaxing cruise on the Rhine River from Konigswinter to Linz am Rhein, enjoy this interesting cruise along one of the most famous European Rivers. We disembark and enjoy some free time in Linz am Rhein, with its colourful half-timbered houses. Later in the afternoon we re--join our ferry for the return trip to Konigswinter.


We depart after breakfast and travel north to the delightful Dutch town of Breda. Later in the day we continue to Rotterdam to join our overnight crossing to Hull. (Meals not included).


Hull to local area arriving home lunchtime.
