A lovely new tour featuring the Pershore Plum Festival as well as visits to the Cider Museum in Hereford and the beautiful Westonbury Mill Water Gardens. Our base for the weekend is the charming Whitehouse Hotel, situated in the centre of historic Worcester, with its cathedral overlooking the River Severn.
The 4 star Whitehouse Hotel is set in the heart of Worcester, close to the shops, cafes and central attractions. Foregates Brasserie serves good quality meals and there is a bar to relax in after dinner. All bedrooms are en suite with TV, telephone, tea making facilities, safe, complimentary toiletries and Wi-Fi. The hotel has a Leisure Club with swimming pool, sauna, jacuzzi and fully equipped gym. There is a lift.
We travel south calling at the National Memorial Arboretum, with its beautiful memorials to all those who have served their county set amongst a maturing woodland landscape. Later we travel to the Whitehouse Hotel in Worcester for 3 nights half board accommodation.
Our day starts with a visit to the Cider Museum in Hereford where you can enjoy the story of cider-making from orchard to bottling. Later we take some free time to explore Hereford itself with its 11th Century Cathedral, home to the Mappa Mundi, and picturesque setting on the River Wye. This afternoon we visit the Westonbury Mill Water Gardens, filled with exuberant planting and quirky follies.
Today we spend the day in Pershore as the town turns purple to celebrate the humble plum with its annual Plum Festival. Discover stalls selling plum themed goodies, street entertainers and much more, all set in the grounds of Pershore Abbey. A lovely day out!
We travel home via Trentham Shopping Village, arriving into our local area late afternoon.
