For nearly three hundred years the cathedral cities of Gloucester, Hereford and Worcester have taken it in turn to host an annual 'music meeting'. The 2018 festival takes place in the spectacular Hereford Cathedral and we are pleased to have secured top price tickets to experience this magical event. To complement the tour we include guided tours of Worcester & Gloucester Cathedrals.
The 3 star Bells Hotel is situated in the Forest of Dean, within walking distance of the small town of Coleford. The hotel is surrounded by its own 18 hole golf course offering spectacular views. All bedrooms are en suite with TV, telephone, tea making facilities, hairdryer and Wi-Fi. There is no lift but ground floor rooms are available.
We make our way to Worcester for a lunch break, then enjoy a guided tour of the cathedral before we continue to Coleford for 3 nights half board accommodation at the Bells Hotel.
We travel to Chepstow, sitting on the banks of the River Wye and overlooked by an impressive castle the town centre has a variety of shops to browse. We continue to the beautiful and atmospheric Tintern Abbey before returning to our hotel.
Gloucester is our destination, we begin with a guided tour of the medieval cathedral. There will be free time to explore before we return to our hotel for an early dinner and then travel to Hereford for the highlight of our tour - 'The Three Choirs Festival Finale'. Sit back and enjoy a performance of the powerful and moving Verdi Requiem, perhaps one of the most loved pieces in the entire choral repertoire.
We depart for home, calling in Ludlow, arriving into our local area early evening.
