We journey into the county of Hertfordshire for a few days exploring this fascinating region. Two of the UK’s most iconic stately homes feature in our itinerary as we visit Hatfield House and Knebworth Park, House & Gardens. Our hotel location to the north of London allows us to spend a day at leisure in the capital.
The 4 star Marriott Waltham Abbey Hotel is located on the edge of the Epping Forest. Facilities include a health/fitness centre, sauna and swimming pool. All bedrooms are en suite with TV, radio, telephone, tea making facilities, hairdryer, trouser press and Wi-Fi. There is no lift but ground floor rooms are available.
We travel to Stamford before continuing to the Marriott Waltham Abbey Hotel for 4 nights half board accommodation.
This morning we include an interesting visit to Mill Green Museum and Mill, a fascinating 300-year-old water mill. In the afternoon, we visit Knebworth House, one of England's most colourful stately homes famous worldwide as the home of Victorian novelist Edward Bulwer Lytton.
We journey into London today where you are then free to indulge in some sightseeing, designer shopping or maybe a cruise along the Thames. Your driver will drop and collect in a central, convenient location allowing you easy access to the main sites and attractions.
Hatfield House is our destination today, one of the Treasure Houses of England, featuring an impressive Jacobean Mansion along with a beautiful 42-acre garden. The house has appeared in several TV and feature films including 'Sherlock Holmes' and 'The King’s Speech'. Later in the day we visit the cathedral city of St Albans.
We depart with a stop at Grantham's Boundary Mill Stores, arriving home early evening.
