The 4 star Marriott Huntingdon Hotel is nestled on the outskirts of Cambridgeshire. It has a swimming pool, sauna, steam room and gym. All bedrooms are en suite with TV, tea making facilities, hairdryer, alarm clock, iron & ironing board and Wi-Fi. There is a lift.
We travel south and enjoy a break in the historic town of Stamford. Later we continue to the Huntingdon Marriott Hotel for 4 nights half board accommodation.
A morning guided tour of the City of Cambridge, a compact, cosmopolitan city with outstanding architecture, old and new. The afternoon is free to explore the beauty of its ancient centre.
Today we head to the Imperial War Museum Duxford where you can get up close to some of the world’s most famous and fastest planes at this historic airfield. Spend the whole day exploring or continue to the pretty medieval town of Saffron Walden, where the bustling market and unusual plasterwork buildings make this a delightful visit.
We visit the charming town of St Neots, sitting on the banks on the River Ouse with a mix of independent shops, cafes and restaurants. Later we take a trip to Anglesey Abbey and Lode Watermill, where you can take in the Jacobean style house, wander in the magnificent gardens or watch flour being ground in the working mill.
We depart for home returning via Rutland Water, Oakham and Melton Mowbray, arriving into the local area early evening.
