Oxford, the 'city of dreaming spires' is steeped in a rich and fascinating history and is famous for its prestigious university. Our tour takes in the best of the region with a guided tour of Oxford, a day into London, including a visit to Buckingham Palace and entry to Waterperry Gardens.
The 4 star Q Hotels Oxford Belfry is set in 17 acres of grounds just outside Oxford. It has a restaurant and bar as well as fitness centre with pool, sauna, steam room and state of the art gym. All bedrooms are en-suite with Freeview TV, tea making facilities, hairdryer, trouser press or iron and Wi-Fi. There is a lift.
We travel to Hatton Country World for a stop, before continuing to Oxford for 4 nights half board accommodation at the Q Hotels Oxford Belfry.
We make our way into Oxford where our guide will bring to life the city of 'dreaming spires'. Later there will be free time to explore.
We transfer into London and visit Buckingham Palace, the official London residence of the UK's sovereigns since 1837. Our ticket includes entry to the Royal State Rooms. Later there will be time for shopping or sightseeing before we return to our hotel.
We explore some of southern Oxfordshire's prettiest towns: Wallingford, also known as the fictional town of Causton from the Midsomer Murders TV series, and Henley on Thames, home to the famous boating regatta. Later we visit Waterperry Gardens, home to 8 acres of beautifully landscaped ornamental gardens, a plant centre, gallery, museum and tea shop.
We travel home via the Cotswolds, arriving into the local area early evening.
