For nearly three hundred years the cathedral cities of Gloucester, Hereford and Worcester have taken it in turn to host an annual 'music meeting'. The 2019 festival takes place in the spectacular Gloucester Cathedral and we are pleased to have secured top price tickets to experience this magical event.
The 3 star Bells Hotel is situated in the Forest of Dean, within walking distance of the small town of Coleford. The hotel is surrounded by its own 18-hole golf course offering spectacular views. All bedrooms are en suite with TV, telephone, tea making facilities, hairdryer and Wi-Fi. There is no lift but ground floor rooms are available.
We make our way to Worcester for a lunch break and the opportunity to visit the stunning cathedral, stroll along the banks of the River Severn or enjoy some retail therapy in the high street named in the top five in UK. We continue to Coleford for 2 nights half board accommodation at the Bells Hotel.
This morning we travel to Hereford where we begin with a guided tour of the beautiful cathedral. There will be free time to explore before we return to our hotel for an early dinner and then travel to Gloucester for the highlight of our tour - 'The Three Choirs Festival Finale'. Sit back and enjoy a performance of 'Holst's 'The Mystic Trumpeter' with Alwyn Mellor and the powerful and moving Beethoven Symphony No 9, perhaps one of the most loved pieces in the entire choral repertoire.
We depart for home, calling in Ludlow, arriving into our local area early evening.
