This new tour for 2019 is based in the luxurious Clifden Station House Hotel, built on the site of the original Clifden railway station. Highlights of the tour feature Lough Corrib, Kylemore Abbey and an unforgettable trip to the Aran Islands.

The 4 star Clifden Station House Hotel is in the heart of Connemara, in the picturesque coastal town of Clifden. Built on the site of the original Clifden railway station, the Railway Station, its Station House Platform and Engine House have been magnificently restored and transformed into the Clifden Station House Hotel and Courtyard. All bedrooms are en suite with TV, telephone, tea making facilities and hairdryer and Wi-fi. The hotel has a spa and wellness centre and indoor swimming pool. There is a lift.
The 4 star Treacy's Hotel Monaghan is located near the market town of Carrickmacross. All bedrooms are en suite with TV, telephone, tea making facilities and hairdryer and Wi-fi. There is a lift.
We journey to Holyhead to board the early afternoon Stena Line ferry to Dublin. We then transfer to Enfield for overnight half board accommodation at the Hamlet Court Hotel.
After breakfast we travel to the town of Athlone (coffee stop) before continuing to Galway (lunch stop). We continue west to the picturesque coastal town of Clifden for 4 nights half board accommodation at the Clifden Station House Hotel.
We spend the day around the shores of Lough Corrib where we begin with a visit to the traditional Irish town of Oughterard. Later we head to the north of the lough and visit Cornamona and the picturesque village of Cong. We return to Clifden for some free time to explore your home resort.
We begin the day with a visit to Kylemore Abbey, owned and run by the Benedictine community who have been in residence here since 1920. Boasting Ireland's largest walled garden, the Abbey also sells Kylemore Abbey pottery and award-winning chocolates handmade by the Benedictine nuns. We continue via Killary Lough and the beautiful village of Leenane, snugly situated at the head of Killary Harbour, often described as the 'Gateway to Connemara'.
This morning we visit the magnificent Aran Islands. We take a 40-minute crossing on the ferry from the village of Ros a’ Mhil, arriving into the harbour of Kilronan from where we embark on a minibus tour with a local guide. The highlight of our tour is Dun Aengus, a 2000-year-old fort perched on the edge of a 60m cliff top.
Please note: that sturdy footwear is recommended, as the path to the fort is quite steep and partly follows some uneven ground.
Departing after breakfast we travel via Westport, Longford and onwards to Carrickmacross for our overnight half-board accommodation at the Treacy’s Hotel Monaghan.
Morning transfer to Belfast for the mid-day sailing to Loch Ryan. Arriving back into the local area early evening.
