The natural beauty of Southwest Wales is famed all over the world and showcases some of the most diverse Welsh landscapes with spectacular mountains, rolling hills and secluded forests to the vast expanses of golden sandy beaches. Our base is the Tywi Valley town of Carmarthen, the perfect base for our visits to the National Wool Museum, the coastal town of Cardigan, Mumbles, the Gower Peninsula and National Botanic Garden of Wales.
The 3 star Ivy Bush Royal Hotel is within walking distance of Carmarthen town centre. The hotel retains its old-world charm blended with modern day facilities. The restaurant uses fresh local produce in its seasonal menus. All bedrooms are en suite with TV, tea making facilities, hairdryer and Wi-Fi. There is also a gym and sauna. There is a lift.
We journey via the main roads and motorways to Carmarthen for 4 nights half board accommodation at the Ivy Bush Royal Hotel.
This morning we visit the fascinating National Wool Museum, which tells the story of the Woollen Industry through working machinery, archive material, and exciting hands-on displays and textile gallery. Later we continue to Cardigan on the North Pembrokeshire Coast.
Morning free in Carmarthen where today is market day. Early afternoon we transfer to the British Bird of Prey Centre where you will have the opportunity to interact with, and learn about, the birds of prey that can be found here in the UK. At 2.30pm there will be a flying display, not to be missed. Your ticket will also include entry to the National Botanic Garden of Wales.
We make our way to the pretty resort of Mumbles, located on Swansea Bay, where you will have time to explore. Later we head to the Gower Heritage Centre and take a tour highlighting some of the unspoilt scenery of the Gower Peninsula, before we return to the centre.
We depart for home, arriving back into the local area early evening.
