Our base for this long weekend break is the city of Bristol and the popular Mercure Holland House Hotel, located in the new maritime quarter in the centre of this historic city. Take the opportunity to view the SS Great Britain, relax on board one of the many cruise boats or visit the historic cathedral. Our break also includes a visit to the award-winning Aerospace Bristol, home to the iconic Concorde.
The 4 star Mercure Holland House Hotel is located close to Bristol's harbourside and city centre. All bedrooms are en suite with TV, telephone, tea making facilities, hairdryer and Wi-Fi. Relax in the restaurant and bar and enjoy the indoor heated pool and fitness suite. There is a lift.
We journey south to Gloucester, where we take a break. We continue to Bristol for 3 nights half board accommodation at the Mercure Holland House Hotel.
We travel to Aerospace Bristol, which houses a varied collection of exhibits as well as Concorde Alpha Foxtrot, the final Concorde to be built and the last to fly. You will be able to follow in the footsteps of world leaders, rock stars and royalty when they step onboard Concorde G-BOAF. We return via Clifton, here we stop to view Brunel’s magnificent suspension bridge, spanning the Avon Gorge.
The day is free to enjoy the Maritime Heritage of Bristol. Visit the Quayside where you have the chance to discover another of Brunel's great inventions, The SS Great Britain, one of the world's most important historic ships or why not take a boat trip on one of the many river cruisers that ply the River Avon.
We travel via the impressive Severn Bridge and onto Ludlow where we take a break. Arrival home early evening.
