A break into the counties of Cambridgeshire and Suffolk, where we have some interesting visits to showcase this corner of England. These include Imperial War Museum Duxford, the university city of Cambridge, with entry to Botanic Gardens, Bury St Edmunds, and the Abbey Gardens. Our accommodation is the Holiday Inn on the outskirts of Cambridge.

Your Holiday Accommodation:

The *** HOLIDAY INN, CAMBRIDGE is set by a lake in rolling countryside just 2 miles outside Cambridge. There is a restaurant and bar, indoor swimming pool with steam room, jacuzzi, sauna and gym. All bedrooms are en suite showers over the bath, no walk-in showers, with TV, telephone, tea making facilities, hairdryer, iron & ironing board, safe and Wi-Fi. There is no lift, but ground floor rooms are available.

Monday

Depart for Stamford & Cambridge

We travel and enjoy a break in the historic town of Stamford. Later we continue to Cambridge for 4 nights half board accommodation at the Holiday Inn.

Tuesday

Imperial War Museum Duxford

We spend today at the Imperial War Museum Duxford. The historic site includes a vast range of enormous hangars, gigantic aircraft, a live airfield, and a wide collection of personal stories of those who have lived, fought, and died in conflict from the First World War to present day.

Wednesday

Bury St Edmunds

We head for Bury St Edmunds where there are fantastic shops, restaurants, and a small market. Explore the award-winning 14-acre Abbey Gardens (free entry) which surround the ruins of St Edmunds Abbey.

Thursday

Guided Tour of Cambridge & Botanic Gardens

This morning we visit the famous university city of Cambridge where we are joined by a local guide. Following the tour of the city we visit the Botanic Gardens of the university and then have free time to obtain lunch and explore at leisure.

Friday

Depart for home

We depart for home passing through Oakham and Melton Mowbray, arriving early evening.
