Travel to Carlow

We travel to Holyhead and board the early afternoon Stena Line ferry to Dublin. We then transfer to Carlow for 4 nights half board accommodation at the Seven Oaks Hotel.

Killenny & New Ross

This morning we explore Ireland’s Ancient East beginning with a visit to the medieval city of Kilkenny. Discover the cobbled lanes and secret alleys and view the magnificent 12th century castle. We continue to the port town of New Ross, situated on the banks of the River Barrow and home to a picturesque quayside.

Wicklow Mountains, Wicklow Gap, Glendalough & Avoca

Today we enjoy a true Irish scenic experience, through lush idyllic landscape to the Wicklow Mountains, Wicklow Gap, Glendalough and Avoca. Glendalough is an amazing glacial valley containing 2 picturesque lakes and a number of early monastic settlements in the National Park. Avoca is a picturesque riverside town famous for hand weaving and more recently the home to the T.V. series “Ballykissangel.” Tonight after dinner we include entry to the hotel dance club, which takes place in the ballroom.

Waterford & Tramore

This morning we visit the city of Waterford, the oldest city in Ireland and home of Waterford Crystal. Later we head to the coastal town of Tramore and follow the Copper Coast, a UNESCO Global Geopark, which extends along the County Waterford coastline for 25 km and is named after the 19th century copper mines that lie at the heart of this spectacular stretch of cliffs.

We leave Carlow and travel north via the Mountains of Mourne and onto Stormont for overnight half board accommodation at the impressive Stormont Hotel.

Return home

We transfer to Belfast Port for our late morning sailing to Loch Ryan. We disembark early afternoon and travel south via the main roads and motorways, arriving into our local area early evening.
