We start our day in the historic city of York with many attractions for all the family. A walk around the ancient walls is a must, hop on a sightseeing bus or just wander the excellent shops and cafes around the city. Stroll along the Shambles and browse its many small independent shops (2½ hr stay). Burnby Hall Gardens, situated in the charming market town of Pocklington on the edge of the Yorkshire Wolds, are worth a visit at any time of year but especially when hosting the annual Tulip Festival. With over 14,000 tulips on display in the Gardens you will see why the gardens have been described as ‘A Jewel in Yorkshire’s Crown’ (3 hr stay minimum).
