Travel to Derby

We journey to Bakewell before visiting Crich Tramway Museum, which will transport you back in time. We continue to the Derby Mickleover Hotel, BW Signature Collection for 4 nights half board accommodation.

Tuesday

Nottingham & River Trent Cruise

We visit Nottingham, famous for the legend of Robin Hood. Later, we take an afternoon cruise on the River Trent, including an afternoon tea.

National Memorial Arboretum

We spend the day at the National Memorial Arboretum (free entry), a memorial to our fallen heroes. It is a spiritually uplifting place which honours the fallen, recognises service and sacrifice, and fosters pride in the British Armed Forces and civilian community.

Kedleston Hall & Derby

Today we visit the stunning Kedleston Hall as we take a trip back in time to the 1760s at this spectacular Neo-classical mansion framed by historic parkland. Now cared for by the National Trust, Kedleston Hall was designed for lavish entertaining and displaying an extensive collection of paintings, sculpture, and original furnishings. We spend the afternoon in Derby and the Museum of Making, a fascinating new museum, celebrating the area’s rich history of innovation.

We visit the spa town of Buxton on our return journey, arriving home late afternoon.
