We board the train in Settle and journey on England’s most scenic railway, taking in the attractions of the 72-mile stretch to Carlisle. On arrival we have free time in this Cumbrian City before we head east into County Durham for 2 nights accommodation at the Radisson Blu Hotel Durham. Enjoy a free day in Durham and time by the sea in Whitby. A real treat!

Depart for Settle-Carlisle Train Journey & Durham
We congregate in Settle for coffee (price not included) before joining the mid-morning train from Settle to Carlisle. Relax on a journey which takes you over the 24 arches of the Ribblehead Viaduct to the side of Dentdale, through the gentle rolling hills of the Eden Valley before arriving in Carlisle. Later we travel to Durham for 2 nights half board accommodation at the Radisson Blu Hotel Durham.

Enjoy a full day at leisure in Durham. With the hotel conveniently located in the heart of the city, you are free to explore at your own pace and return as you please.

Return Home via Whitby
We journey to the picture postcard seaport of Whitby, dominated by the cliff-top ruins of the 13th century abbey (minimum 3.5hr stay). We continue home later in the day, arriving early evening.
