This is a chance to witness the enthralling spectacle which draws thousands of people year after year with its magical atmosphere, featuring the world-famous massed pipes and drums, military bands, highland dancers and the haunting sound of the lone piper, once seen never forgotten. There will be free time in Glasgow and Edinburgh and we visit the famous Kelpies.

The 4 star Best Western Plus Keavil House Hotel is a beautiful, historic country house with extensive leisure facilities set in 12 acres of gardens and grounds. All bedrooms are en suite with TV, telephone, tea making facilities, hairdryer, complimentary toiletries and Wi-Fi. The restaurant serves locally produced food. There is no lift.

Enjoy the music, dance and precision display with the Massed Pipes and Drums, the Massed Military Bands, cultural troupes, singers and the poignant refrain of the Lone Piper against the stunning backdrop of Edinburgh Castle.

Travel to Edingburgh and onto Dunfermline

We travel direct to Edinburgh where the day will be free to explore the Scottish Capital. We continue to Dunfermline for 2 nights half board accommodation at the Best Western Plus Keavil House Hotel.

Tuesday

Date : August 10, 2021

Glasgow and the Tattoo

We spend the day in Glasgow with opportunity to visit the museums at Kelvingrove, including the Riverside Transport and Travel Museum or enjoy shopping in George Square. We return to the hotel for an early evening meal before we transfer to Edinburgh Castle for the 9.00 pm performance of the Tattoo. Please note: At time of printing, Tattoo Tickets were not on sale. There is a huge demand so please be advised, tickets are subject to availability. Also, the itinerary may have to be changed to accommodate ticket allocations. From the coach set down point there is a steep cobbled incline to the castle area and steps to climb to the seating area.

Travel home via the Helix

After breakfast we visit the Helix, home to the Kelpies, the world's largest equine sculptures. We continue south arriving home late afternoon.
