We return to the Bells Hotel Coleford, the perfect base for a tour of the Forest of Dean and the surrounding countryside. Our chosen itinerary is action packed and features a guided tour of Gloucester Cathedral, the Big Pit Coal Museum, Tintern Abbey and the market towns of Monmouth, Abergavenny & Ludlow.

Abergavenny & Big Pit Coal Museum

A taste of Wales today as we head for the market town of Abergavenny, known as the 'Gateway to Wales'. Browse the traditional market, before we visit the Big Pit National Coal Museum. Enjoy a multimedia tour of a modern coal mine with a virtual miner and see exhibitions that tell the story of coal in Wales.

Forset of Dean, Tintern Abbey & Monmouth

A circular tour through the Forest of Dean, taking us via Lydney, Chepstow and the magnificent Tintern Abbey. We continue to the border town of Monmouth for some free time to explore the UK’s first Bee Town.

Gloucester Cathedral & Ross on Wye

Gloucester is our destination this morning, as we take a guided tour of the medieval cathedral, where 1,000 years of breath-taking architecture is sure to impress. Later we continue to Ross on Wye, a picturesque town perched above the River Wye and home to a lovely array of independent shops, black & white medieval buildings, and a historic 16th century market hall.
