Michael Portillo's 'Great Railway Journeys' television series has rekindled our romance with railway journeys. Our railway adventure includes scenery in areas of Scotland that are dramatic in different ways. Many memorable experiences will be created from the breathtakingly beautiful Kyle Line to Kyle of Lochalsh, to the Far North Line Thurso to Dingwall, on the most northerly shoreline.

We travel north through the Cairngorms National Park to the Priory Hotel, Beauly for 4 nights half board accommodation.

EXCURSIONS
- An early start for the scenic journey to the remote Georgian town of Thurso. Following time at leisure, enjoy today's rail journey on the Far North Line, the northern most railway in the United Kingdom. Experience the wilderness of the moors before the dramatic scenery as you travel along the eastern coastline, which at times almost runs on the shore.
- A leisurely day as we offer free time in your base town of Beauly followed by an optional visit to Inverness, the ‘Capital of the Highlands', with its spectacular setting, impressive castle and cathedral.
- The highlight for most will be today's journey on one of the world's finest coast-to-coast railway journeys to the Kyle of Lochalsh, overlooking the Isle of Skye. This spectacular train ride is undoubtedly one of the most scenic rail journeys in the United Kingdom. Rejoin the coach for an equally interesting return via Loch Ness.
