Following the excellent feedback from last year, we are delighted to repeat our tour showcasing the rich and varied heritage of Humberside. Highlights include visits to Burton Constable Hall, the Grimsby Fishing Heritage Museum, and a scenic ride on the Cleethorpes Light Railway, with lunch included. Our base for the tour is the comfortable Mercure Hull Grange Park Hotel.

The **** MERCURE HULL GRANGE PARK HOTEL is a former 19th century manor house located in 12 acres of landscaped gardens in Willerby on the outskirts of Hull. There is a spacious brasserie and welcoming lounge bar. All bedrooms are en suite bedrooms have TV, telephone, tea making facilities, hairdryer, and Wi-Fi. Depart for Tong Garden Centre & Hull

We travel to Tong Garden Centre with its wide selection of plants, homewares, and Hearty’s Food Hall. Later we continue to the outskirts of Hull for 4 nights half board accommodation at the Mercure Hull Grange Park Hotel.

Tuesday

Hull Guided Tour & Free Time

A 1.5 hour guided tour of Hull (by coach & on foot) before free time to explore the attractive marina, historic old town, or city centre shops.

 

 

Wednesday

Beverley & Burton Constable Hall

We visit Burton Constable Hall for a ‘Potted History’ guided tour. Gain an insight into the history and residents of the 16th century hall before you are free to explore at leisure or take a break in the Stables café.  We continue to Beverley with its impressive Gothic Minster, Georgian architecture, and bustling mid-week market.

Grimsby Fishing Heritage Museum & Cleethorpes Light Railway

Our day starts with a return journey on the Cleethorpes Light Railway with included Fish & Chips lunch.  We then discover the importance of the fishing industry to this region today as we visit Grimsby Fishing Heritage Museum. We also include a tour of the restored 1950’s fishing trawler the ‘Ross Tiger’. Please note that flat footwear must be worn due to the steps and deck gratings on board.

Return Home via York

We travel home with a stop in York, arriving into our local area late afternoon.
