Spend the afternoon exploring the city of Durham with its Cathedral and Castle, both UNESCO World Heritage sites, as well as quirky shops and eateries set in a maze of cobbled streets (1.30-5.30 pm approx). Later we head to Bishop Auckland for the highlight of our day, Kynren! Start your pre-show experience with a visit to the Viking Village, where warriors prepare for battle and blacksmiths craft chainmail at the forge before taking your seats for the spectacular show. This thrilling tale told on an epic scale brings to life the incredible story of England’s last 2,000 years, taking the audiences on an action-packed journey through time. Travel through the fog of war, noise of battle, heat of industry and pageantry of royal ceremony; from King Arthur and the Romans to Queen Elizabeth I, Shakespeare and the Victorians, all told with amazing choreography, breath-taking stunts, equestrianism, special effects and pyrotechnics (Performance starts 7.30 pm, leave 10.00 pm approx). This is an outdoor show, please wear appropriate clothing & footwear for the weather conditions. Seating is firm so you may wish to bring a small cushion.
