Spend the afternoon exploring the city of Durham with its Cathedral and Castle, both UNESCO World Heritage sites, as well as quirky shops and eateries set in a maze of cobbled streets (1.30-5.30 pm approx). Later we head to Bishop Auckland for the highlight of our day, Kynren! Start your pre-show experience with a visit to the Viking Village, where warriors prepare for battle and blacksmiths craft chainmail at the forge before taking your seats for the spectacular show. This thrilling tale told on an epic scale brings to life the incredible story of England’s last 2,000 years, taking the audiences on an action-packed journey through time. Travel through the fog of war, noise of battle, heat of industry and pageantry of royal ceremony; from King Arthur and the Romans to Queen Elizabeth I, Shakespeare and the Victorians, all told with amazing choreography, breath-taking stunts, equestrianism, special effects and pyrotechnics (Performance starts 8.15 pm, leave 10.45 pm approx). This is an outdoor show, please wear appropriate clothing & footwear for the weather conditions. Seating is firm so you may wish to bring a small cushion.

*PLEASE NOTE: When parking at Preston Patrick Memorial Hall there is now a charge of £5 per car and parking is limited to 5 spaces. All cars must park at the rear of the hall nearest the canal. When the coach arrives to collect you our driver will hand you a ticket which must be displayed on the dashboard of your vehicle before you board the coach. Alternatively, you can park at our Ingleton Depot free of charge.
