The *** SALUTATION HOTEL is situated in the heart of the historic city of Perth. One of the oldest hotels in Scotland, it retains its historic charm with modern day facilities. All bedrooms are en suite with TV, telephone, tea making facilities, and hairdryer. Wi-Fi available in public areas. There is a lift to the first floor only.
The *** NORSEMAN HOTEL is in the Viking town of Wick, only a few minutes’ walk from the town centre. Recently refurbished it offers modern accommodation with a restaurant and bar. All bedrooms are en suite with TV, telephone, tea making facilities, hairdryer, and Wi-Fi. There is no lift but plenty of ground floor rooms.

Caithness & John o’ Groats
Today we explore Caithness, calling at the North Coast Visitor Centre in Thurso before continuing along the stunning coastline to John o’ Groats, the most northerly point of the UK mainland. There will be time to explore the village and take in the stunning scenery.Saturday

Ferry Crossing to Orkney,
After a leisurely breakfast we travel to Scrabster for our early afternoon ferry to Stromness on Orkney. After disembarking we are joined by a local guide and visit the ancient settlement of Skara Brae & Skaill House. Discovered in 1850 and older than Stone Henge, it offers a unique insight into prehistoric life. We also include a visit to the interesting Italian Chapel, a beautiful Roman Catholic chapel in Lamb Holm which was constructed by Italian POWs during the Second World War. We continue to the Albert Hotel for a 3-course dinner with tea & coffee before boarding our ferry for the overnight crossing from Kirkwall to Lerwick on Shetland.Sunday

Guided Tour including Jarlshof & Shetland Museum & Archive
After a continental breakfast on board we disembark and are joined by a local guide for the day. Enjoy a coastal tour of the South before we continue to Jarlshof, Europe’s largest archaeological site ranging from the Neolithic up to the 1600’s. After an included soup & sandwich lunch we explore the Shetland Museum & Archive before visiting a local jewellery workshop. Later we board our ferry for dinner and the overnight crossing from Lerwick to Aberdeen.Monday
