We once again team up with CroisiEurope to offer another fantastic river cruise holiday on board the MS Gerard Schmitter, one of the newest ships of the CroisiEurope fleet. We enjoy a relaxing full board cruise along the Rhine, beginning in Strasbourg and visiting Rüdesheim, Koblenz and Heidelberg whilst cruising through a landscape of well-known vineyards, fairy-tale castles, and quaint villages. During the cruise, we experience an evening like no other as the river around you is lit by the spectacular Rhine in Flames! On certain magical summer evenings, an ever-changing kaleidoscope of lights erupts above the river and shimmering cascades of colour plunge into the romantic Rhine Valley. From the deck of the Gerard Schmitter, you enjoy an unrivalled view of this magnificent sight. The **** MS GERARD SCHMITTER is one of the flagship ships on the CroisiEurope fleet of river cruisers. All the cabins have lower berths, picture window and are equipped with shower, washbasin and toilet, TV, radio, hairdryer, and safe. Facilities on board include air conditioning, a lounge bar with dance floor, bar, large sundeck with deckchairs, gift shop and TV/Video lounge. There is a lift, and limited cabins equipped for people with disabilities. Free Wi-Fi on board.

Depart for Overnight Ferry Crossing to Rotterdam
Late morning transfer to Hull for the overnight ferry crossing to Rotterdam. (Meals not included).

Travel to Strasbourg, MS Gerard Schmitter & Optional Excursion
Travelling south through Belgium to Strasbourg where we board the MS Gerard Schmitter at around 6pm for 4 nights full board accommodation. Relax and enjoy your evening meal and a welcome cocktail with the crew. This evening there is an optional visit to Strasbourg’s old town by boat (subject to availability, payable on-board). We sail through the night.

Guided Tour of Rüdesheim & Free Time
During the morning we cruise past Lauterbourg, Speyer and Mainz, take lunch on board and arrive in Rüdesheim early afternoon where we include a guided tour of this famous winemaking town. After dinner back on board, the evening is free to visit the Drosselgasse, famous for its traditional wine bars and open-air performances.

Koblenz Walking Tour & 'Rhine in Flames' Procession
Our day is spent cruising along the prettiest stretch of the romantic Rhine, passing castles set amidst renowned vineyards and the famous Lorelei Rock. We arrive in Koblenz early afternoon, and the onboard host will lead a visit to the old town on foot for those who wish to. Late afternoon we sail toward Trechtingshausen where we take our place in the procession of boats. What follows is an unforgettably magical evening, as the romantic Rhine bursts into a riot of colour, creating a spectacular fairy-tale atmosphere – the Rhine in Flames!

Heidelberg Guided Tour & Evening Entertainment
We set sail early and travel back up to Mannheim, cruising past Wiesbaden, Nierstein and Worms as we relax on board. We then enjoy an included excursion to Heidelberg and its famous castle. After dinner we enjoy an evening of music and dancing. We sail to Strasbourg through the night.

Travel to Rotterdam & Overnight Ferry Crossing to Hull
We disembark after breakfast and travel north to Rotterdam with a scenic stop en route, before joining our ferry for the overnight crossing to Hull. (Meals not included).
