We travel deep into the county of Shropshire for an interesting few days exploring this beautiful part of the UK. Gardens, historic cities, and villages all feature to highlight the best of the area. We enjoy a relaxing cruise on the River Severn, visit the amazing Ironbridge Valley of Invention and have plenty of time to unwind in our chosen hotel the Mercure Shrewsbury Albrighton Hall.

The **** MERCURE SHREWSBURY ALBRIGHTON HALL HOTEL & SPA is a beautiful 18th century manor house set in 15 acres of grounds just 4 miles from Shrewsbury town centre. There is a restaurant, bar & leisure club & spa. All bedrooms are en suite with TV, telephone, tea making facilities, hairdryer, iron & ironing board, and Wi-Fi. There is a lift in the main hotel with some steps and some bedrooms in the Stable block.

This morning we pay a visit to Dorothy Clive Garden an intimate and informal garden with lovely views over the Shropshire hills. Later we call into Bridgemere Garden World for the chance to browse the award-winning garden centre.Wednesday

Ironbridge Gorge & Valley of Invention
The World Heritage site of Ironbridge Gorge is our destination this morning, where we explore the Ironbridge Valley of Invention. After time in the village, we continue to Blists Hill, a recreation of a Victorian town complete with chemist’s shop, grocers, sweet shop, and pub.Thursday

River Cruise, Free Time in Shrewsbury & British Ironwork Centre
We drive to Shrewsbury and board the ‘Sabrina’ for a 45-minute cruise on the River Severn, including refreshments. Free time in Shrewsbury follows before we visit the British Ironwork Centre, with its metal sculptures and arts & crafts demonstrations.Friday

Depart for RHS Bridgewater & Home
We spend the day at RHS Garden Bridgewater. The task of restoring, regenerating, and replanting has been a labour of love for all involved. Their hard work, the vision of award-winning designers and the extraordinary heritage of the site has led to a truly inspired garden. Late afternoon we continue our journey home, arriving early evening.Supplements
