Depart for Haytor
We travel south to Haytor in Dartmoor National Park, for 4 nights half board accommodation at the Moorland Hotel.
Tuesday

South Devon Railway, Dartmoor Otter Sanctuary & Buckfast Butterfly Farm
We start our day with a nostalgic steam train journey on the South Devon Railway, travelling from Buckfastleigh through the stunning scenery of Dartmoor and the Devon Hills. Later we visit the Dartmoor Otter Sanctuary & Buckfast Butterfly Farm, located adjacent to the station, seeing otters and tropical butterflies in their natural environment.

Buckfast Abbey & Free Time
This morning we take a short drive to Buckfast Abbey. Home to a community of Benedictine monks, this 11th Century abbey is a place of tranquillity and beauty where you can explore the magnificent abbey itself, wander around the stunning gardens or enjoy a leisurely lunch in the spacious restaurant. Later we return to our hotel where you can relax in the gardens or take a scenic walk.

Guided Tour of Dartmoor
Today we are joined by a knowledgeable guide for a scenic tour of Dartmoor accompanied by an informative commentary bringing to life the geology, folklore, flora and fauna of this stunning region. There will be photo stops and some short, easy walks to make the most of the magnificent landscape and highlights will include Chagford, Postbridge, Widdecombe in the Moor and Sharpitor.
