There is something magical about a European Christmas Market, and where better to soak up the festive atmosphere than the stunning Belgian city of Bruges, with its pretty wooden chalets, surrounding a glittering ice rink and beautiful buildings. Our base for this tour is the city of Ypres, where you can sample the festive ambience of this truly remarkable city.

The *** ALBION HOTEL is located a few yards from the main city square and a short walk to the Menin Gate. All bedrooms are en-suite with TV, telephone, tea making facilities, and Wi-Fi. The hotel serves a delicious buffet breakfast each morning, with authentic treats and produce delivered from local farmers. There is a bar, and the hotel has a lift.

Depart for Ferry Crossing to Calais & Ypres
An early get away as we travel south to Dover for our afternoon crossing to Calais. It is a short trip of around an hour over the Belgian border to Ypres, where we check in at the city centre located Albion Hotel, for 3 nights bed and breakfast accommodation. There are many restaurants and cafes situated in the main square from where you can purchase your evening meal.

Bruges Christmas Market
We make the journey to the city of Bruges where you can spend the day enjoying one of the best Christmas Markets in Europe. The whole city turns into a fairy-tale destination, filled with Christmas trees and fairy lights and scents of buttery waffles and hot chocolate.

Optional Excursion & Free Time
This morning you can join your driver for a visit to some of the iconic sites of WW1, a chance to view first-hand the suffering of the First World War. The remainder of the day is free to explore the city of Ypres, with its many museums, stylish shops, and cafe bars. Take the opportunity to attend the emotional Last Post Ceremony, held each evening at 8pm at the Menin Gate.

Depart for Ferry Crossing to Dover & Return Home
We depart after breakfast and travel to Calais for a late morning crossing to Dover. We travel north, arriving back into our local area mid to late evening.
