We travel into North Wales and the stunning scenery of the Snowdonia National Park. We take two memorable train journeys from our base in Llanberis. The Royal Victoria Hotel is set at the foot of Mount Snowdon in 30 acres of formal gardens, ancient woodland and even a 12th century castle ruin. A truly scenic Welsh break!

Depart for Llanberis

We travel via the North Wales coast to Llanberis for 4 nights half board accommodation at the Royal Victoria Hotel.

Tuesday

Snowdon Mountain Railway & Betws-y-Coed

Our day starts with an unforgettable return journey on the Snowdon Mountain Railway, taking in magnificent views as we travel to the summit (weather permitting) with time to explore the Visitor Centre. Later we travel around the Snowdonia National Park, travelling via the Llanberis Pass to Betws-y-Coed.

Welsh Highland Railway, Beddgelert & Portmeirion

This morning we join the Welsh Highland Railway to experience a journey from Porthmadog through the spectacular Snowdonia National Park. We disembark in the picturesque village Beddgelert where you will have time for a coffee. Rejoining our coach, we continue to the unique Italianate style village of Portmeirion, where the stunning houses and pavilions overlook the sea at Cardigan Bay.

Caernarfon & Anglesey

Caernarfon, with its magnificent castle, is our first destination today. Later we cross the Menai Straits for a visit to Beaumaris and Llanfair PG.

Friday

Date : 31 July, 2026

Llangollen & Return Home

We travel towards the Dee Valley and the Horseshoe Pass to Llangollen for a break, before continuing our journey home, arriving late afternoon.
