We are pleased to include a new tour based at Dooleys Hotel in the riverside city of Waterford, the oldest city in Ireland and a wonderful mix of ancient and modern. Discover medieval city walls, quaint cobbled streets and grand historic buildings alongside character pubs, gourmet eateries, and superb shopping. There is an abundance of things to see and do in this region and our itinerary includes the beautiful Mount Congreve Gardens, the fascinating Dunbrody Famine Ship, a scenic railway journey along the River Suir and a drive along the historic Copper Coast plus free time to explore the charming city of Waterford. Depart for Holyhead & Ferry Crossing to Dublin
We journey to Holyhead to board the early afternoon Irish Ferries to Dublin. We disembark and travel to Carlow for overnight half board accommodation at the Seven Oaks Hotel.
Monday
Date : 6 July, 2026
Kilkenny & Waterford
After breakfast, we depart for the medieval city of Kilkenny. Upon arrival, we will board the Kilkenny City Tours Road Train for a 30-minute journey through the city's historical landmarks, including St. Canice's Cathedral, St. Francis Abbey Brewery, and the Old Courthouse. This convenient tour offers an excellent way to explore Kilkenny's rich heritage. Following the tour, you will have ample time to wander the cobbled streets and visit the magnificent 12th-century castle. We then proceed to Waterford for four nights half-board accommodation at Dooley's Hotel.

Waterford & Suir Valley Railway & Mount Congreve Gardens
Today we enjoy a journey on the Waterford & Suir Valley Railway, a heritage narrow gauge line running from Kilmeaden along the banks of the River Suir. Later we head to Mount Congreve Gardens with its beautiful woodland walks and stunning walled garden filled with a breath-taking array of colourful flowers including peonies, delphiniums, asters, and a wonderful waterlily pond.

House of Waterford & Dunbrody Famine Ship
We start our day with a visit to House of Waterford, the world-famous crystal manufacturer that takes its name from the city. Enjoy a guided tour where you will see the fascinating production process from design through to engraving. In the afternoon we visit the picturesque port town of New Ross where we include a trip to the Dunbrody Famine Ship. This reproduction of an 1840’s emigrant vessel gives an insight into emigration following the potato famine, through interactive exhibits and costumed guides.

The Copper Coast & Free Time in Waterford
This morning we head to the coastal town of Tramore and follow the Copper Coast, a UNESCO Global Geopark, which extends along the County Waterford coastline for 25 km and is named after the 19th century copper mines that lie at the heart of this spectacular stretch of cliffs. Later we return to Waterford for free time to explore all this charming city has to offer.

Avoca, Glendalough & Dublin
We depart after breakfast and travel through the stunning Wicklow mountains, calling at the pretty village of Avoca famed for its tradition of handweaving and as the filming location for the hit TV series ‘Ballykissangel’. Later we visit the monastic settlement at Glendalough before continuing to Dublin for overnight half board accommodation at the Talbot Hotel.
Saturday

Ferry Crossing to Holyhead & Return Home
We depart our hotel and transfer to Dublin for our early morning sailing to Holyhead (breakfast included on-board). Travelling through North Wales, we arrive back into the local area late afternoon.
