This morning we make our way to Castlebar and the National Museum of Ireland - Country Life. Set in the spectacular grounds of Turlough Park the Museum treats visitors to a taste of how our ancestors lived their daily lives. Later we continue to Westport, arriving late afternoon for 4 nights half board accommodation at the stunning Castlecourt Hotel.Tuesday

National Famine Memorial, Killary Fjord & Kylemore Abbey
Our first visit this morning is to the National Famine Memorial, commemorating the people of Ireland who died in the Great Irish Famine, a striking sculpture crafted by John Behan. We continue through the attractive town of Louisburgh and enjoy the dramatic scenery of Killary Fjord and Leenane village. Our return route takes us into Connemara where we view the spectacular lakes and mountains with a stop at Kylemore Abbey.Wednesday

Free Time in Westport
We stay local today with free time to explore or take advantage of the hotel’s leisure facilities. There will be opportunities to visit the historic Westport House set in a stunning 400-acre estate or take a boat trip on Clew Bay.Thursday

We depart Westport and travel to the lovely village of Cong where you will have time to explore. Later we continue via Athlone, to the outskirts of Dublin for overnight half board accommodation at the Talbot Hotel.Saturday

Return Ferry Crossing & Home
We depart our hotel and transfer to Dublin for our early morning sailing to Holyhead (breakfast included on-board). Travelling through North Wales, we arrive back into the local area late afternoon.Supplements
